Mike Cowan submits a new paper: "Chaocipher: Solving Exhibits 1 and 4"
The
Chaocipher Clearing House is happy to host Mike Cowan's latest paper. The paper, entitled "Chaocipher: Solving Exhibits 1 And 4",
presents his computer methods for solving the underlying plaintexts and
starting alphabets of Exhibit 1 and 4 in "Silent Years".
The
paper includes appendices with C source code for discovering the
starting alphabets given plaintext and ciphertext, for rewinding
the alphabets backwards, and a genetic algorithm for discovering the
key phrase used to prime the initial starting alphabets.
